These terms are an agreement between you and Brain Nourishment, LLC for using Checkpoint. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.
01 The service
Checkpoint is a personal game backlog tracker that lets you log games, rate them, write notes, and build lists. Game information is provided by third-party data sources. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.
02 Your account
You sign in using Google. You’re responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use Checkpoint. Provide accurate information and keep it current.
03 Acceptable use
When using Checkpoint, you agree not to:
- Break the law or infringe anyone’s rights
- Post content that is unlawful, abusive, hateful, or harassing
- Attempt to access, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the service or its infrastructure
- Use bots, scrapers, or automated means to access the app beyond normal personal use
- Misuse the service in a way that harms other users or us
04 Your content
You keep ownership of the reviews, notes, lists, and other content you create in Checkpoint (“your content”). You grant us a limited license to store, display, and process your content as needed to operate the service for you. You’re responsible for what you post and for having the right to post it.
05 Our content and third-party data
The Checkpoint name, design, and software are owned by Brain Nourishment, LLC. Game titles, artwork, and metadata belong to their respective owners and are provided through third-party data sources; we don’t claim ownership of them. You may not copy or redistribute the app or its underlying data except as the service allows.
06 Purchases
If Checkpoint offers paid features or subscriptions, they’re billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play and governed by those stores’ terms. Pricing, billing, and renewals are handled by the relevant store, and refunds follow that store’s policy.
07 Termination
You can stop using Checkpoint and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or use the service in a way that creates risk or harm. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as content licenses, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will continue to apply.
08 Disclaimers
Checkpoint is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don’t guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that game data will always be accurate or complete.
09 Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Brain Nourishment, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of Checkpoint. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim.
10 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be subject to the courts or dispute-resolution process designated for that jurisdiction.
11 Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use Checkpoint after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
